Next week, BSX RECORDS and Dragon's Domain will be releasing four new titles.

Next week, BSX RECORDS and Dragon's Domain will be releasing four new titles.

The first release is a reissue of the soundtrack from a classic horror film from the 90s. It has been remastered for vastly improved sound, features brand-new artwork, and includes new notes about the product of its time.

The second title is another reissue of a score initially released 25 years ago. We have created new artwork, remastered the score, and put it in show order. We believe it's a little-known treasure from that era.

The third release is a golden age collection, but this time, it's horror-oriented, and we hope you will enjoy it.

The last release will be a compilation of two scores by a composer we are very fond of, who has been overlooked. The first score is a flat horror effort, while the second combines both romantic and science-fiction qualities that are very much a product of its time.

 Happy Halloween!

Douglass Fake, Prolific Soundtrack Producer, Has Died at 72

Douglass Fake, Prolific Soundtrack Producer, Has Died at 72

By Randall D. Larson
when I brought my early CinemaScore magazines to the store for him to sell, and I has the opportunity to promote his first soundtrack album, Basil Poledouris’s RED DAWN album. He was one of the first soundtrack promoters in the area, later moving across the bay to Oakland. Doug’s influence in bringing important soundtracks into the area and maintaining that business brought significant opportunities for film music to flourish via the important Intrada soundtrack shop and website.

Douglass Fake, an independent record producer (with over 700 credits) and a champion of classic film music restoration for four decades, died after an extended illness on Saturday morning, July 13, in Richmond California.

“Today, there remains a healthy slate of projects in various stages of completion at Intrada, all bearing Douglass Fake’s influence if not direct participation,” wrote Roger Feigelson, VP of Intrada’s business affairs. “We plan to continue operation of the store and label well into next year, to celebrate Intrada’s 40th anniversary. We’re excited to share some titles that have been in development for a long time. The business is healthy. the market is stable—it just won’t be as much fun without Doug. We miss him already.”

Mr. Fake is survived by his sister Peggy, his wife Mary Ann, daughters Regina and Veronika, and granddaughter Amelia. A celebration of his life and other tributes will be announced shortly.

For more details, see Joe Sikoryak’s memorial to Douglass Fake on the Intrada website.

Sincerest thoughts and condolences to his family, the Intrada team, and all those whose collections of film music were expanded and enjoyed through his efforts and musical treasures.
